In 2000 GestureTek transformed the way people interact with computing displays by inventing and patenting 3D video gesture control. Our pioneering of this technology over the last 10 plus years has resulted in a multi-patented 3D-vision gesture control system, which is a highly precise and reliable user interface for interacting with any display screen from any distance. Whether on a personal computer, set top box, television set, mobile device, game console, digital sign or interactive kiosk, GestureTek's ground-breaking depth tracking software enables users to control onscreen interaction with simple hand motions instead of a remote control, keyboard or touch screen. This technology has been used for custom installations for Fortune 500 companies over the last 10 years, and GestureTek continues to offer this advanced state of the art technology and service to its clients. Some of the technology and patents that are the basis of this technology have been licensed to major consumer electronics companies, like Microsoft, for use on the XBOX.

Hitachi using GestTrack3D

GestTrack3D SDK is now available for development on PCs

GestureTek is proud to announce the launch of its GestTrack3D SDK, the only patented 3D gesture control software available. GestTrack3D lets you control interactive displays and digital signs from a distance with hand and full body gestures. Navigate "Kinect™-like" 3D game worlds. Interact with virtually any computer system without ever touching it. GestureTek, the inventor and multiple patent holder of video gesture control using 2D and 3D cameras, introduces GestTrack3D, our patented, cutting-edge, 3D gesture control system for developers, OEMs and public display providers. Maestro eliminates the need for touch-based accessories like a mouse, keyboard, handheld controller or touch screen when interacting with a PC or interactive display. Working with practically any 3D Depth camera it can precisely measure the location and trajectory of people's hands or body parts, Maestro's robust tracking enables device control through a wide range of gestures and poses. Maestro is the perfect solution for accurate and reliable off-screen computer control in interactive environments because the user does not have to stop be measured or calibrated with the system, but instead can walk up and begin interacting right away.

GestureTek has developed advanced tracking and gesture recognition algorithms to define the relationship between computers and the people using them. With 3D cameras and our patented 3D computer vision software, computers can now identify, track and respond to fingers, hands or full-body gestures. The SDK system has multiple modes of operation for the appropriate mode of interaction desired. It also includes a library of one-handed and two-handed gestures and poses.

GestTrack3D Hand Tracker

GestTrack3D Hand Tracker

The GestTrack3D Hand Tracker drives touch-free cursor control on Windows-based applications by measuring the position of a user's hand(s) within an adjustable volume and distance from the camera. The tracker can follow one hand or two hands to create a multi-touch mode, and can track up to ten hands simultaneously, best from a distance of up to two meters away (camera-dependent).

GestTrack3D Multi-Tracker

GestTrack3D Multi-Tracker

The multi-tracker detects multiple data points on the user's body (head, torso, hands) enabling the creation of immersive full-body representations and aspects of avatar control. The tracker can recognize circle and swipe gestures and can support activities such as scrolling, enlarging, shrinking or rotating items. Tracking gestures have been used to control 3D navigation, as well as joystick, driving and drumming simulations.

GestureTek Uses 3D Cameras To Let Human Gestures Control PC

Our 3D gesture recognition software allows people to create aspects of 3D avatar control while interacting in real time with computer-generated characters and objects. The system repeatedly and reliably tracks full-body movement and subtle gestures in complete 3D space. Resistant to distractions like background movement or variable lighting, the system locks onto the user and translates their unique movements into specific computer commands and events.

A Flexible Gesture Interface for Any Platform or Device

GestureTek leads the way to a fully gestural touch-free user interface for any platform or environment. We are able to adapt our software to be compatible with any device enabled with a depth sensing camera. For consumer electronics companies worldwide, GestureTek offers device control through hand poses and gestures such as hand waves, finger counting and pointing. Our robust library of video gesture control patents and video capture, analysis and control commands are available for license. API's include full body analysis and motion tracking, along with feature-specific tracking such as face, hand, color, motion and object tracking. GestureTek continues to work for leading manufactures to deliver 3D gesture control to their devices; for Display and Projector Manufacturers, Televisions, Media Centers, Home Automation, Set-Top Boxes, PC and Console manufactures, In-Car, Mobile devices, etc.

Unlimited Practical Applications in Countless Sectors

Our proven success with avatars, interactive games and specific hand tracking interfaces is just the beginning. Along with factory automation, industrial design and military applications, here are a few other exciting applications of our 3D tracking technology:

  1. 3D avatar representation, where onscreen avatars respond directly to a user's movements as they provide instructions or deliver information.
  2. Interactive advertising, where users can transport their 3D image right into the heart of an interactive digital sign or advertisement.
  3. Virtual rehabilitation, where patients can watch their 3D image and see progression in range of motion as they move through therapeutic exercises.
  4. Device control, where hand gestures are tracked and translated into common 'point and control' actions.
  5. Immersive social networking, whereby a user's real-time 3D video image or their 3D avatar representation, is transported into a 3D virtual environment. Users can watch themselves as they interact in 3D space with images of other users all over the world.
  6. Gestural platform interfaces, where computers can be controlled by using a combination of hand poses and gestures, including hand waves, finger counting and pointing.
