William R. Leckonby, CEO
Bill assumed the role of CEO in December, 2003. Prior to that, he co-founded ePropose, a collaboration technology platform software company, serving as its President and CEO from 1999. At ePropose, Bill oversaw the raising of significant investment and guided the company through several e-business initiatives before it merged into TreasuryX. Previously, Bill had operated and successfully sold three software companies. From 1997 to 1999, Bill was President of Asyst Software, Inc. (ASI), which he grew from a startup to a 70-person, $6 million company in just two years. ASI was formed to develop and sell software products and consulting services for equipment integration in the semiconductor manufacturing process. Previously, as President and CEO of Integral Systems, Inc., Bill oversaw the operational turnaround and financial restructuring of this $55mm enterprise application software and services company. He reorganized the product line, sold unprofitable operations, and rebuilt the senior management team before selling the company to a Singapore-based technology holding company. From 1986 through 1993, Bill was President and CEO of Tesseract Corporation, a provider of human resources, payroll, and benefits software and services. He increased revenues from $5 million to a profitable $32 million and established the company as the leader in this high-end market niche. Bill holds a BS degree from Yale University and an MBA from Drexel University. Vincent John Vincent, President & Co-Founder Vincent John Vincent is the co-founder of GestureTek and has been the creative force behind the company and its technological innovations for the past 15 years. Vincent's unique insight and creativity has been instrumental in defining and developing the video gesture recognition and control industry. In addition to commercially marketing the company’s technology, Vincent is responsible for day-to-day operations and sales and marketing for the business. Vincent leads the company's activities in ongoing market identification, product development in multiple vertical markets, and worldwide installation of GestureTek systems. Vincent has personally overseen the creation of well over 400 GestureXtreme virtual experience applications for games, corporate events, TV productions, education, and virtual therapy uses. Vincent is recognized as a leader in the world of multimedia, having represented the industry and delivered keynote addresses at countless industry conferences worldwide. Vincent is a co-creator and past Executive Producer of The International Digital Media Awards. He is on the advisory board for the Toronto Design Exchange VR Visualization Center, and the Art Institute of Toronto. In 2003, Vincent was honored by the Canadian Digital Media Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Vincent has a degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo. Francis MacDougall, CTO & Co-Founder Francis MacDougall is one of the co-founders of the company and drives GestureTek’s technology strategies, leading the company's development and production teams, as well as all patenting and licensing activities. Francis developed and patented the company’s core single camera gesture control technologies and led the creation of the application development engine, scripting language, and numerous other applications. Prior to his work with GestureTek, Francis utilized his software architecture, systems design, and project leadership skills in development projects for IBM, Bell Northern Research, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Litton Aerospace. For McDonnell Douglas, he led the development effort for the prototype multi-processor based Heads-Up Display system used on the LHX helicopter, the upgrade to the Apache that was successfully deployed in the 1991 Gulf Crisis. Francis is a specialist in real-time system design and has experience spanning low level embedded architectures incorporating ASIC and DSP solutions, communication systems design, network audio/video transport, image processing and computer vision, as well as high level implementations under consumer and professional architectures, including the Windows series and several UNIX variants. Francis is a creative force in technology and product development and excels at finding the rapid path to creating marketable solutions for consumer requirements. He holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo, where he majored in Computer Science. Gary Nobrega, VP, Finance & Operations Gary began his association with GestureTek in mid-2004 in a part time lead financial role, and now has full time responsibility for the company’s financial, operations, and administrative activities. A chartered accountant, he began his career with Price Waterhouse in 1983, subsequently moving into the business side with Clarkson Gordon, then in 1987 to Metro Financial Group as Vice President of Operations for this provider of real estate products. In 1993 Gary began an independent position as CFO for multiple clients, responsible for all varieties of financial, HR, operations, and administrative functions. Gary holds an Honors degree from Queens University and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. YOSHITARO KUMAGAI, VICE PRESIDENT - ASIAN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Yoshi joined the company in the fall of 2004, after a distinguished career in leading businesses with strong Asian/North American connections. Since 1981, he has held positions with Singer, the Imaging Division of Mead Corporation, and IDEC Corporation, where he was responsible for Japanese and US sales and operations. Subsequently, he served as President of DPA Technology and as Chairman and CEO of Vivitar Corporation, a major distributor of various camera and computer peripheral devices. His most recent position was as SVP/Business Development for Reactrix, a company developing an early stage media platform enabling real-time interaction between humans and video advertising displays. Yoshi holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Hosei University and a BS in Information Systems and Mathematics from Georgia State University.
Jim Grady, Vice President, General Manager Jim is a 16-year veteran in the mobile and wireless business, with a proven track record of success that has earned him a reputation as a leader in the field. His broad experience includes eight years on the carrier side for AirTouch/PrimeCo (now Verizon Wireless/Vodafone). As regional VP/GM at PrimeCo/AirTouch, Jim led the sales and marketing of services and equipment to consumers. As a vendor for eight years, Jim spearheaded the sales and marketing of complex system solutions to the global operator market. Jim has vast expertise in helping to foster growth in global and multi-functional organizations, scaling revenues from zero to $100 million and developed of a staff of several hundred. Jim also worked as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Jim holds a BS from the University of Maine in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. Edwin E. Fowler, Director, Business Development Ed Fowler assumed the role of Director, Business Development for The Americas and EMEA in May of 2005. Ed’s career has spanned 28 plus years in the high technology enterprise software field in Silicon Valley. His varied experience includes roles with multiple software startups, such as Intrepid Systems, which, under his direction as Vice President of World Wide Sales and Business Development, reached Number 13 on INC’s list of the 500 fastest growing companies. The company was later acquired by PeopleSoft in the fall of 1998. Ed later joined WhereNet Corporation, the industry leader in RFID real time location technology, as a member of the executive management team and head of World Wide Sales. There, he assembled the field sales and support organization, acquiring such clients as Ford Motor Company and Coca Cola. Ed also served as Vice President for SAP’s North American Retail, CPG, and Supply Chain practice for over three years before resuming his work in the startup sector. Mr. Fowler received his BBA in marketing, with minor concentrations in International Business and International Economics, from Baylor University. Additionally, he continues to be a sought after consultant and speaker at various industry events. |
