University of Waterloo helps students use the CUBE and the 60” MT GestDisplay to develop interactive applications and business opportunities.

Many Universities and colleges are trying to help students launch start ups by creating digital media centers that help them facilitate the development of applications and business models. GestureTek is honoured to be a part of many of these digital media centers. The University of Waterloo has created what it is calling a “Felt Labs for its REAP” in coordination with Quarry Marketing to stimulate student start-ups. For this center they have purchased a CUBE and a 60” Multi-touch GestDisplay Kiosk. Students will use these systems to create interactive applications and launch business relationships. This is a special honour for GestureTek, as Vincent John Vincent and Francis MacDougall, the co-founders of GestureTek, and the inventors of Video Gesture Control technology, created their ideas for it while at the University of Waterloo in the mid 1980’s.
