Equipmag 2002: Innovation Prize for Virtual Shop Window

Wincor Nixdorf's virtual shop window has received an award at Equipmag 2002, Europe's third-largest IT trade fair. The jurors at the shop fitting and technology exhibition which has just ended in Paris (September 16 - 19) awarded the Innovation Prize to the latest version of the virtual shop window, thereby putting the exhibition spotlight very clearly on the solution which acts as an interactive tool to promote customer relationships and customer loyalty.

In Paris, Wincor Nixdorf presented the solution together with all the multi-faceted options it enables. Promotion through entertainment, picture images, sound and smell - they are all used to appeal to the customer's senses. One key feature is the inclusion of Carina, a virtual personality developed by Cologne-based company Charamel and built into the Kaufhof application by Concept, also based in Cologne.

Wincor Nixdorf has used standardized hardware and software together with the very latest technology, complete with touchscreen functionality using the surface of the shop window itself, and with all technical components protected within vandal-proof exteriors. www.wincor-nixdorf.com
