theLIFT Uses GestureTek’s Gesture Control System On SMS-Enabled Touch Windows for Real Estate Sales Center

January, 2008 -- theLIFT is a Los Angeles-based creative agency whose passion is creating and evolving brands that consumers crave.  By leveraging creativity, technology and experience, theLIFT delivers distinctive brand interactions that achieve remarkable results.

GestureTek’s ScreenFX™ system was chosen by theLIFT when the agency decided to experiment with motion-control for a new interactive storefront window that was being designed to promote condominium sales for Los Angeles-based Evo.

The resulting display is a huge multi-panel interactive storefront window on a busy Los Angeles street that draws attention to the EVO Sales Center, provides information 24/7 on Evo’s offerings and even books sales appointments.

The first display window is motion sensing.  Enabled with GestureTek’s patented gesture recognition technology, the camera-based system actually looks out at the surrounding environment, tracks the movement of people nearby and translates those movements into computer commands.

The content captures the attention of hipsters and yuppies alike, as the image of a pretty young woman magically comes to life upon approach.  The woman initiates passers-by in conversation with the help of outdoor speakers, encouraging them to text message her to set up an appointment at the EVO Condominium Sales Center.

The second window features a touch-based system that lets users access and navigate menu-based information about the development project and the condos for sale.

“The most exciting part of this installation is the massive scale of the window and the integration of a motion and gesture-based interface with touch-based interactivity and SMS enablement,” said Dean LaCoe, GestureTek’s California-based Business Development Representative.

“The wonder of the integrated solution spearheaded by theLIFT shows just what can be accomplished with a little imagination and interactive technology from GestureTek” says LaCoe.
