Google Gets a Virtual Advertising Playground with Xenium and GestureTek

Technology met creativity in Mumbai, India as Google teamed up with IT provider Xenium, using GestureTek's gesture control technology, to launch the "Google Creative Sandbox". The exclusive event, held at the India Bulls Center, was aimed at marketing and advertising "top dogs" and featured GestureTek's WallFX interactive wall display system, GestureXtreme virtual reality game system and AirTrack hand tracker for touchless, point-based display control. Digital experts Xenium Technologies spearheaded the project and managed the creation of eye-catching custom content that shared the history of Google's success and achievements in a truly unique way.

From digital ping pong games, to interactive wayfinding applications using Google Maps, to colourful Flash-based interactive effects, to information-packed multi-touch tables, guests became totally immersed in the world of Google as they engaged with GestureTek's interactive motion-driven displays.

Screens were modified to fit the specific needs of Google. Guests were fascinated by interactive Flash pieces that unveiled themselves as they walked by. Multi-touch tables were programmed with content from Google Maps where "Street View" enabled the user to take a stroll through various environments.

Photo applications were uploaded to GestureXtreme and provided guests with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in surreal settings. Guests could have their photo taken next to a Maserati in front of a castle in their destination of choice and keep the photo as a souvenir.

"The event was a huge success and generated a lot of buzz. By the time it was over, everyone was smiling," said N.MD Parveez, Director of Xeneium. "Google is now considering a similar event for their head offices in California."
