Envy Nightclub’s TableFX Interactive Bartop from GestureTek Makes Other Bars Green with Envy

June 2008 – Envy Nightclub (www.envysandiego.com) is one of the hottest night spots in San Diego, California. Situated in the stunning Ivy Hotel (www.ivyhotel.com),  this multi-level dance club has beds that become tables and even tables that become dance floors.  The owners wanted to add some exciting new technology to the bar area to attract customers and enhance the already dazzling club atmosphere.  They decided to use GestureTek’s innovative TableFX product on their bartops to create a showstopping conversation piece unlike anything found in the average nightclub.

TableFX is a multimedia visual display system that projects breathtaking interactive special effects, games and advertisements directly onto an interactive surface. With TableFX, ordinary tables, counters or bars transform into spectacular entertainment vehicles.  Users control dynamic display graphics using nothing but simple hand and body movements. The system can even can deliver sound, Flash and 3D animation applications.

Marketers use TableFX to deliver an engaging full-body interactive experience that immerses users in their message and endears them to their brand.

For the Ivy Hotel, GestureTek used four small versions of TableFX projected onto a polished concrete bar and then created a myriad of gorgeous effects to excite customers: the Envy logo was interspersed with virtual billiard balls that people could move around with a wave of the hand; psychedelic jellybeans which radiated against the dark club light; and a koi pond with digitally rendered fish that simulated an actual aquarium built right into the bar.
