GroundFX® – Interactive Edutainment Displays

February 2005 - The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada approached GestureTek™ to create an educational installation to be in keeping with their facility, which is known for state-of-the art technological displays. GroundFX® was chosen to impress and entertain the thousands of visitors that pass through the museum weekly. There are two GroundFX systems located in the New Hall. The second unit is a dual-protection system that is 30’L x 8’ W. The content displayed in one is “Interactive Flowers” where when the users step on the floor, multi-coloured flowers appear. The other system displays a “Knowledge Pool” where there are swirling actions on the floor which when the users passes his feet over it, newspaper articles with historical information such as famous quotes, appear out of the vortex.
