PineKnolls Aquarium features interaction with “virtual” wildlife from the region

GroundFX have become a very popular form of interaction for museums, science centers and visitor centers. They have also become very popular for aquariums with applications of interactive simulations of ponds, rivers and lakes. GestureTek created a custom mountain pond application for the North Carolina PineKnolls Aquarium. Very specific animated fish were created common to that area. When visitors stepped into the interactive water it would create ripples and the fish that would naturally swim around would scatter away. This has become a very popular exhibit as children enjoy trying to touch the illusive interactive fish. Because no technology is ever touched this system can withstand enormous amounts of interactive visitors and nothing can be broken by them.
