ORLANDO, Fla. and TORONTO, Canada (October 24, 2005) - Consumers are stopping in their tracks at sports stadiums, convention centers, performing arts venues, concert halls and movie theaters across the country, as Monster Media begins the nationwide rollout of the revolutionary GroundFX system, the latest technology in interactive advertising, developed by GestureTek. The patented advertising system draws consumers into each ad by using state-of-the-art interactive video technology projected onto an eight-by-ten foot (or larger) floor display, where consumers use a range of body motions to interact with dynamic animation, such as wiping away one image to reveal another. “Consumers now have the ability to engage with advertising like never before, literally bringing static ads to life and creating memorable and personal experiences,” says John Payne, president of Monster Media, the U.S. company that licenses the revolutionary new system through an expansive media network. The cutting-edge GroundFX technology enables consumers to take control of advertising as they view it. For instance, with a quick wave of a hand or foot, consumers can manipulate car colors and styles in automobile ads. Some advertisers have elected to turn their ads into games, prompting customers to putt golf balls or race around a car track while observing an advertiser’s brand. “The product is limited only by creativity,” says Payne. “For instance, travel clients can literally bring their destinations to life by adding the soothing sound of ocean waves that ripple as consumers stroll through the visual display. In one case, tropical fish dart around the feet of unsuspecting consumers.” GroundFX is the only product of its kind to integrate sound to enhance the interactive feature and further immerse consumers into the advertising environment. In addition, GroundFX advertisers have the unique ability to monitor customer reaction to their ads at any time utilizing a proprietary built-in monitoring feature. Prior to forming a strategic relationship with Monster Media, GestureTek employed their cutting-edge Video Gesture Control technology in some of the world’s most sophisticated video game applications and museum exhibits. Said Bill Leckonby, CEO of GestureTek, “We are pleased to work with Monster Media to not only develop the advertising application for the product, but also to deliver it to stadiums, entertainment venues and theaters across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.”GroundFX has already been installed in many venues across the country including Angels Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.; American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas; and the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pa. Over the next 90 days, the GroundFX system will be introduced into dozens more professional sports stadiums, entertainment venues, performing arts centers, convention centers, concert halls and movie theaters throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. “Stadiums and theaters are not just where athletes and entertainers play, but where the world’s top brands compete for consumer attention as well,” said Payne. “Instead of simply providing a visual impression, GroundFX engages consumers with advertisements in a way that makes them unforgettable. And it allows the advertisers to gauge the effectiveness of each message in real-time, and to alter those messages instantaneously based on the audience.” About GestureTek GestureTek is inventor and world leader of video gesture control and analysis technologies that enable human beings to use their body motions to either ‘get into the game’ interacting with computer applications immersed on-screen or to control a screen from a distance with natural gestures.
