Virtual Court featuring Chamique Holdsclaw.

GestureTek puts your live, real time video image, on screen within a computer generated court.

Watching yourself on the screen you can physically participate in a one-on-one full court challenge against the full motion video images of the historic U of K Alumni players, (some that have moved on to the NBA).

The attraction is GestureTek's latest patented Gesture Extreme (GX) product designed for public entertainment venues. Sophisticated artificial intelligence and video gesture control technology allows the participant intricate manipulation of the virtual basketball, giving them the true experience of being in the game and part of the action.

Stepping in front of the video screen/camera set up the participant's live image is instantly transported onto the 3D basketball court. Right from the center court tip-off players are endowed with special jumping powers that let them soar to great heights. Players can dribble down the court and choose from an arsenal of shots including set shots, jump shots, hooks, and an amazing slam dunk. However, the computer opponent uses artificial intelligence to block shots, steal the ball, and outwit you as they drive for the basket (with their own trademark shots) so timing and moves are everything. "Because GestureTek used the real video footage of all the U of K opponents, it seems as if you are playing against another live person", states Vincent John Vincent, GestureTek President, "the sense of 'Reality' is incredible."

When your opponent has possession, you must attempt to steal the ball before they are at your basket, or jump up to block the shot. But watch out! Your opponent knows what you're doing and will try to out-maneuver you! Commit too soon and he'll sneak by for a 360 slam of his own. Participants currently have a choice of four venerable opponents; Farmer, Walker, Sheppard and Davender. Players with the most points have their image captured and displayed on the Top Ten Wall of Fame.

"This is a another great example as to why our unique technology is perfect for VR sports titles. Virtual Court uses our most advanced technology to date. Two cameras at 90 degrees view the area, creating a matrix that analyses the space and your image in 3D. This yields complex body and hand tracking, that lets you dribble and shoot effortlessly, in the exact same way as you would in the real world, " says Vincent John Vincent.
