Inhance Uses Gesturetek’s Patented, Award-Winning Interactive Multi-Touch Platform For NASA Moon Station Exhibit.

September 2008 – The Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama is part of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).  They provide the multi-discipline engineering expertise behind propulsion and transportation systems such as the space shuttle and Ares rockets.  As a cutting-edge technology organization, it’s fitting that the Marshall Space Flight Center turned to Los Angeles-based Inhance Digital Corporation, one of America’s top interactive agencies, along with GestureTek, to integrate their multi-touch interactive surface computing table for use in NASA’s mobile exhibit.

GestureTek’s space-age Illuminate Multi-Touch Table is a user-friendly surface computing platform that can be designed in virtually any shape or size to suit any requirement.  It can also be delivered as a turnkey unit, standing 36" high, with a 50" gesture-controlled screen, a powerful computer, a projector, an IR camera and speakers.  The full library of GestureTek’s GestureFX special effects applications can also be included in the system.

For the NASA mobile exhibit, GestureTek and Los Angeles-based interactive agency Inhance Digital Corporation, provided a multi-user game that teaches players about one of the exciting Lunar Outpost being developed at NASA.   The table has four separate starting points, to accommodate multiple users.  In each section, viewers have access to different parts of the moon station, which they can rotate or zoom into to get more information.  Each user has the ability to drag and drop a piece of the station into the center of the table.  Together, multiple users assemble their pieces to collaboratively build the Lunar Outpost.  After the users have worked together to build the station, a short informative video plays that gives them more insight into the work being done at NASA.

“GestureTek’s multi-touch technology opens a new world of possibilities for innovative and highly engaging multiplayer, multiuser and collaborative interactive experiences." said Maziar Farzam, President of Inhance Digital Corporation. "We appreciate what GestureTek’s team has provided to NASA and Inhance in order to integrate this technology into NASA’s mobile experience. We are proud to be a working with their team.”
