GestureTek Health sponsors ‘Best Student Paper’ Award at Virtual Rehabilitation 2007, Europe’s premier cyber therapy conference
TORONTO, ON – (October 16, 2007) – GestureTek Health - a division of gesture-recognition pioneer GestureTek Inc. – today announced its sponsorship of the ‘Best Student Paper’ award at Virtual Rehabilitation 2007 in Italy, Europe’s premier virtual reality conference for the healthcare industry. The award recognizes student research and achievement in the area of virtual rehabilitation.
The winner of GestureTek’s first-ever ‘Best Student Paper’ Award for 2007 was Andrea Turolla for her paper on ‘Reinforcement feedback in virtual environment versus conventional physical therapy for arm motor deficit after stroke’. Co-winners included P. Tonin, C.S. Zucconi, M. Agostini, F. Piccione, M. Dam, and L. Piron.
“Andrea’s paper was selected from a record number of submissions, which reflects a growing interest and awareness in this unique area of healthcare,” said Ron Kelusky, President of GestureTek Health.
