GestureTek Wins 2009 DIGI Award for ‘Best New Generation Display Device'
Sunnyvale, CA (November 16, 2009) – GestureTek, the world leader in gesture control interfaces for interactive displays and devices, announced today that its 3D depth sensing digital signage display technology for Sprint has earned the company a 2009 DIGI Award for the Best New Generation Display Device (non-LCD or Plasma). To view a video of the award-winning installation, visit http://www.gesturetek.com/3ddepth/businesscases/businesscase-sprint.php.
The award-winning installation in Kansas City, KS uses a 3D depth sensing interactive display screen with mobile phone connectivity to track people’s body movements and respond by sending a Sprint promotional message that follows them the entire length of the interactive billboard. The interactive motion-detecting advertising message invites users to create their own personalized interactive wall art on Sprint’s gesture control screen, by calling Sprint on their mobile phone. The installation was led by partner Mission Electronics. Content was created by Goodby Silverstein. Games were created by Megaphone.
“GestureTek has been the leader in interactive control for 3D and 2D tracking technology for more than 20 years, and we are very pleased to have our work on this campaign recognized for its cutting-edge use of technology to generate real results for the client,” said Vincent John Vincent, GestureTek’s Co-Founder and President.
