New GestureTek Product Transforms any Digital Sign or Advertising Screen into an Immersive Interactive Experience for Consumers

ScreenXtreme showcased at Selfservice/Kiosk Expo in New York City

ScreenXtreme with ActiveXNEW YORK, NEW YORK– October 29, 2007 – GestureTek Inc. - world leader and patent-holder in computer vision and gesture-recognition technology for presentation, information and entertainment systems - today announced a major enhancement to the company’s stunning ScreenXtreme immersive interactive digital signage system, allowing it to be combined with any other digital signage solution.  GestureTek showcased ScreenXtreme at the KioskCom Self Service Expo on October 23 and 24 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, NY.

ScreenXtreme can now be delivered as a plug-in window on any existing digital signage solution.  This means that any digital advertisement or display currently in the market can be quickly and easily outfitted with the ScreenXtreme gesture-recognition software, making it instantly interactive and immersive.  As always, ScreenXtreme can also be delivered as a turnkey stand-alone unit.

ScreenXtreme has been upgraded to work with ActiveX controls, enabling any existing digital signage solution working on the Microsoft Windows Operating System to run ScreenXtreme immersive interactive software as a sub-window, within the overall solution.

ScreenXtreme is a powerful tool for entertainment and brand promotion.  It magically captures a passer by’s real-time image and allows one to watch themself on a screen of any size, as they transform an advertisement’s background, images and special effects.  Using a patented, camera-based technology that tracks the area in the vicinity of a display, ScreenXtreme lets people manipulate the graphics that surround them on the screen, simply by moving their hands and body.

ScreenXtreme comes with over 30 pre-programmed special effects, including effects that simulate swimming underwater, juggling objects or wiping away a hazy mist to clear the view.  Customized graphics are also possible, limited only by the advertiser’s imagination.  The flexible system allows for graphics to be changed instantly.  In addition, a feed from the video camera can measure the number of interactions and deliver other critical user metrics, a useful tool for evaluating ROI.

“ScreenXtreme is the future of interactive signage.  It adds a personal touch that attracts consumers’ attention and ensures message recall like nothing else does,” says Vincent John Vincent, President and Co-Founder of GestureTek Inc.

"ScreenXtreme literally stops customers in their tracks. It's a fun and informative way to actively engage viewers with a brand, through interaction and personal experience, rather than a passive view of a static display.  Its added metrics capabilities make it that much more powerful as an advertising solution.”
