Retailer Musgo makes play for hearts and minds of shoppers with interactive gesture-controlled games on their retail window

February 2008 – Musgo, an upscale design and furniture store in Madrid, Spain was exploring new methods of attracting consumers to their trendy boutiques.  They wanted something that was unique and would draw consumers to their dynamic display windows.

Musgo’s owners decided to go through Grupo ATRAE  www.atrae.es , who is the exclusive dealer of Gesturetek in Spain, with GestureTek’s ScreenXtreme™ immersive signage solution to achieve this goal.

ScreenXtreme or “Digital Game”, as it is called in Spain, is a revolution in public space advertising and entertainment.  Using patented camera-enabled body tracking technology, ScreenXtreme transports a person’s real-time image into the heart of any interactive digital sign or display, where they can play games, interact with digital ads, or manipulate eye-catching special effects.

For Musgo, GestureTek and its Spanish partner, Grupo Atrae, created an immersive interactive retail window. Content designers took inspiration from the country’s national pastime, football, to create an immersive and interactive gaming experience for consumers.  ScreenXtreme tracks bypassers and transports their real-time image right onto a 60-inch plasma, projected through Musgo’s store window.  People find themselves the star attraction in a fully interactive soccer game, where they have the chance to ‘make the big save’ as digital soccer balls are launched towards them.

“We wanted to give our customers an experience they’ve never had before.  People were curious about the window and approached it with interest.  When they found themselves playing a soccer game they were enthusiastic and quick to interact with the system.  We think people appreciate these interactive forms of advertising because they enjoy a more personalized experience” said Borja Orio, Consejero Director General for Musgo (www.musgo.com).
